Description:
Startup Mindset: Agility, Innovation, and Impact
My career has been defined by a startup mindset, forged in fast-paced, high-growth environments where ambiguity is the norm and adaptability is essential. At Amazon.com during its formative years (1998–2003), I wore many hats—progressing from Customer Service Agent to editorial lead for the new Electronics store. I thrived in an environment that demanded flexibility, jumping into roles as needed, whether managing teams, driving projects, or launching new initiatives.
At Jobster, an early LinkedIn competitor, I managed the company’s sales and marketing website, overseeing a migration to Drupal that I led with a third-party development team. I also explored emerging strategies in social media marketing on Facebook and developed foundational SEO/SEM practices. This role combined technical implementation with creative problem-solving, hallmarks of the startup world.
As the founder of Elektronova, an early home energy monitoring startup, I spearheaded the concept, built a prototype with a talented team, and pitched for funding, winning an early-stage pitch competition. While the 2008 Great Recession ultimately shuttered the venture, it was a powerful experience in innovation, resilience, and leadership.
Later, as Director of Site Experience for IntegrityID, I helped shape the brand, managed site development, and advised the CEO on digital and technology strategy. From early-stage development to partnerships and branding, I contributed to crafting a vision and executing it.
This entrepreneurial journey has equipped me with the skills to navigate uncertainty, drive innovation, and deliver results across a range of industries and challenges.
